Enchanting Beatrix Potter tales for the entire family at People’s Theatre, Joburg Theatre Complex, 3rd September – 7th October
PEOPLES THEATRE is absolutely delighted to announce their latest arrival to stage, Beatrix Potter’s fabulous children’s classics Peter Rabbit and other Tales.
As the theatre company has obtained the rights to the Potter stories, it provides them the opportunity to produce a show which is all at once authentic, allowing for costumes and props that are replicas of the original Beatrix Potter drawings, yet with the magical collaborative touch that audiences have come to expect from director-choreographer team Jill Girard and Keith Smith.
Audiences young, old and in between can expect six of Beatrix Potters most beloved stories, including The Tale of Mrs Tiggywinkle, Peter Rabbit, Benjamin Bunny, Johnny Town Mouse, Jemima Puddle and the Flopsy Bunnies, all beautifully told through her famous characters, brought to vibrant life by the talented cast.
The Girard-Smith team has turned Peter Rabbit and other Tales into a veritable children’s storybook feast as they magically weave Beatrix Potters’ storytelling flare into a gloriously choreographed production, which will ultimately see the cast interacting with their young audiences.
As the stories flow out of the pages of these classic tales so children will be thrilled by the theatrical encounter with one of the world’s most famous and inquisitive rabbits and his charming collection of friends.
